Cleaning up the wooded areas

The park is now cleaner thanks to local volunteers

Local campaigners have taken part in a "Street Clean Weekend", organised by Andy Street, Mayor of the West Midlands. The park off Humphrey Street in Lower Gornal, was covered in litter and had tents, sofas and other furniture fly-tipped.

In total there were 11 bags which were filled and a collection was organised by local Councillor Bryn Challenor with Dudley Council.

Councillor Bryn Challenor says

"I would like to thank all of our volunteers for coming this morning and helping to do such a wonderful job cleaning up our park. It looks much cleaner now and lots of people walking through the park thanked us for our hard work".

The next Street Clean Event will take place in Upper Gornal on Pale Street at 4:30pm.
